Project Training for Adults Who Want to Teach Youth

A series of hands-on workshops for adults who want to teach new topics to youth in scout and 4-H clubs, afterschool programs, summer recreation sites, etc. These are free workshops and attendees will go home with the curriculum and other goodies they will be able to put right to work – as they teach the project to youth.

Kids love to get their hands in the dirt and if they can go home with a cute dish garden to nurture it is even better. Participants will make their own dish garden, and learn many tips and hints, to prepare them to teach youth to do the same. The instructor is Cathi Annese, 4-H club leader and horticulturist. The session is free and most materials will be supplies. Participants please bring a container that is 6-12 inches in diameter and at least 3 inches tall that will hold soil and three small plants. It should not have any drainage holes. Also, bring small decorative items that can be used to make your planter into a fun “scape”.
