Fall Plant Sale (Hudson and Acra)

  • Saturday, October 6, 2018, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Master Gardener Volunteer Program will hosts its annual Fall Plant Sale at both the Extension Education Center in Hudson and the Agroforestry Resource Center in Acra.  Featuring Mixed double blooming daffodils, King Alfred, paper whites, and hyacinth bulbs.  Terrarium globes will also be offered for sale.

Due to the invasive jumping worm occurrences reported in both counties last fall and the lack of a proven, researched-based solution to the problem to date, this event will be strictly plant sales as opposed to swaps conducted in prior years. Master Gardener Volunteers will be using best practices to provide both annual and perennials grown from seed in sterile soils to prevent further broadcast of worm cocoons into our soils.

Bulb-forcing kits for paper whites and hyacinths for sale.  Master Gardener Volunteers will also be present to answer gardening questions and perform pH tests on garden soil. The cost is $2.00 for the first sample and $1.00 for each additional sample.

All funds raised at both locations will be used to support future Master Gardener Programs.
