Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties and the Philmont Community Center are pleased to announce the Summit Lake Explorers Program. This free environmental education program will take place Monday through Friday, August 10 through 14, 9am to Noon at the Philmont Community Center.
Join professional educators and explore the waters of Summit Lake in Philmont, NY. Learn to collect and identify the insects and fish that live in the lake in this new and exciting hands-on summer program. Open to children ages 8-12, maximum 10 participants. This program is partially funded by the Philmont Community Center and a grant from Stewarts Shops.
To receive a registration packet for the Summit Lake Explorers Program, please contact Anna Harrod-McGrew, 4-H Natural Resources Educator, at 518-318-1180 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants are expected to participate in every day of the program. Registrations will be confirmed when the completed registration packet is received. The deadline for registration is Monday, August 3rd.
Precautions will be taken to prevent against transmission of COVID-19. All participants will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing when possible. Children exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will not be permitted to remain in the program.
