Easy Home Composting Practices and Bin Building

  • Thursday, October 13, 2022, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Do you have kitchen scraps and yard waste that you haul to the transfer station every month? Would you like an easy solution and compost at home? Join Jean Bonhotal on October 13 at 10:00AM at the Extension Education Center in Hudson, to learn the basics and benefits of composting.

Jean Bonhotal is the Waste Management Specialist and Director of the Cornell Waste Management Institute in Soil and Crop Science. Jean will talk about the benefits and science of composting. She will present designs to make or purchase appropriate bins for the waste you normally generate. We will also have a workshop on how to build a simple system at home. You will be able to generate rich compost (black gold) from waste that will provide nutrients for your garden and simultaneously help reduce the bio-waste in our landfills that emit methane
