Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties is pleased to announce that Connor Young will be joining our staff as Team Leader of the Environment & Natural Resources Program effective February 4, 2019.
As the Team Leader, Connor is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Association’s Environment and Natural Resources Program.This encompasses regional program areas including forestry, agroforestry, watershed, invasive species management, biodiversity preservation, and energy conservation.
Connor received a Master’s Degree of Environmental Law & Policy from Vermont Law School with a focus on climate change adaptation in addition to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Conservation from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Connor has most recently been employed by The Trustees of Reservations, a land conservation organization dedicated to preserving natural and historical places throughout Massachusetts.In his role as Livestock Program Manager, he steered program direction and oversaw statewide livestock farm operations with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. He also has previous work experience with the Watershed Agricultural Council where he served as the Easement Stewardship Coordinator throughout the NYC Watershed.
Connor joins CCE following the retirement of Marilyn Wyman, ENR Issue Leader.Marilyn retired from CCE January 18th after 27+ years of service with the association.
