Students will use pastels, watercolors or oils to capture the beauty of the Siuslaw Model Forest. Let the great outdoors be your studio! Instruction will begin with surface preparation, broadly blocking the scene through creating a fully realized composition. A strong emphasis will be placed on color, structure, composition and capturing the ever-changing natural light. Techniques for watercolor, pastel and oils will include blending, layering, color mixing, lifting, working wet on wet, glazing, and brush and paper selection and use. Teaching methods will include instruction, demonstration, individualized attention, and support through the process.
