Managed by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties, the Taste NY store at the Capital Region Welcome Center is located on I-87 North between the Coxsackie and Selkirk exits. The welcome center provides tourist information for the Capital Region, interactive kiosks, a wall full of historical artifacts highlighting our region, and of course, the Taste NY store to show case local farms and producers.
The Taste NY program, which is funded through the Department of Ag and Markets, is designed to provide more exposure to producers on a major thruway with prevalent tourism traffic and to educate customers on the benefits of supporting local agriculture. The store offers coffee drinks, snacks, hot food, grab-n-go, cold beverages, gifts, maple syrup, honey, baked goods, tasting demos, and helpful staff.
If you’re a New York State agricultural producer interested in selling your products at the Taste NY Market at the Capital Region Welcome Center fill out a Taste NY Market Vendor Application or contact our Manager Chris Lawton at 518-756-8420 or email ccl248@cornell.edu.
