Tick Talk for Farmers and Landowners

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Gather with livestock producers, farmers, and landowners for an in-person talk on ticks. Ticks have been on the rise in New York, and a new tick in town is raising the stakes even further. More ticks in more places increase your risk of tick encounters and the disease-causing pathogens they inject during their blood meal.

Joellen Lampman, Community IPM Extension Support Specialist from the NYS Integrated Pest Management Program, will discuss what we know about the impacts of ticks and tick-borne diseases on livestock in New York, steps being taken to learn more, and what we might do to mitigate risks for our stock and ourselves.

Attendees will receive a Don’t Get Ticked New York kit for their farm. Kits contain tick removal equipment and identification cards.
