Columbia and Greene 4-H Enrollment Opens

4-H is America’s largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime. In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us.

Enrollment options include enrolling in a volunteer-led 4-H club or as an independent 4-H member. Columbia and Greene 4-H members have opportunities to participate in local, district, regional and statewide 4-H programs, workshops and events. They work on 4-H projects on their own and/or as part of a club. There are scholarships and leadership opportunities available as well as opportunities to participate in 4-H fairs. Enrolled 4-H members engage in a variety of project areas including animal science, agriculture, gardening, healthy living, STEM, environmental awareness, arts and crafts, cooking, community service and more!

Registration deadline

Returning member enrollment paperwork and payment is due Tuesday, December 1, 2026, or before participating in your first 4-H activity of the new program year. After December 1 a $10 late fee per youth will be charged (in addition to the annual enrollment fee). New member enrollment paperwork and payment are due within 30 days of the first 4-H club meeting attended but before participation in any county, regional or state event or activity. 4-H members who enroll after June 1, 2026 will not be able to enter exhibits for evaluation at the Altamont Fair, Columbia County Fair or New York State Fair.

Cost

Payment is $15 per member or $30 per family for annual dues paid by cash or check. A $1 fee will be added to payments processed through Pay Pal. We waive the fee in cases of financial hardship. Please prepare a written request in lieu of the fee. The fee is also waived for military families.
