Exploring the M’skakw: The Mohican Relationship with Wetlands! Join us on Thursday, May 19, 2022 as we take a walk on the Mud Creek trail with Justin Wexler from Wild Hudson Valley to learn about local native people and their relationship with the environment. The Mohican people once relied heavily on our diverse wetlands as a source of food, medicine, dyes, and many other things. This educational walk will identify flora and fauna and describe their uses in native culture, while also explaining the species and the surrounding ecosystems through Mohican and Munsee language and folklore.
Everyone is welcome for this educational wetland adventure! Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear shoes that can get wet.
