The Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties have been awarded a Certificate of Recognition from Senator Daphne Jordan of the 43rd Senate District.

This certificate was given in recognition of the award for the 2019 Good Earthkeeping Award received from Columbia County Environmental Management Council. The NYS Senate thanked the Master Gardener Volunteers for their effort to make real and lasting contributions to the preservation and improvement of our environment.

It is a great honor to be recognized by our local Senate district for all the work the Master Gardener Volunteers have been continually doing in our local communities. Congratulations to one and all!

Master Gardeners appear on WGXC Radio for Open Ears 90.7FM to talk about ticks.

Donna Peterson, Jean Thomas, and Theresa Golden appeared on the WGXC afternoon show educating the airwaves with their impressive knowledge ticks and gardening. Did you know throwing your clothes in the dryer for 20 minutes after being outside will kill any ticks stuck to your clothes? You can find out more facts like these by listening to the whole show on the  WGXC website (starts at around 1:10 in).

Master Gardener Volunteers attended the 2019 International Master Gardener Conference

Held in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania with over 1200 other Master Gardeners from as far away as Korea! With everyone enjoying pre and post tours and lots of classes and continuing educational features, we all learned new and exciting things. We can’t wait to pass what we’ve learned onto those who could not attend.

The camaraderie was great and we look forward to keeping in contact with some new friends!
