Join us at the Agroforestry Resource Center for a hands-on workshop exploring the innovative world of air-pruned raised beds (APRBs). APRBs are elevated nursery containers that enhance root development, improve transplant success, and are ideal for propagating nut-bearing and other long-taproot tree species. During this workshop, participants will see a short presentation introducing the principles of air pruning, design considerations, and species selection. We’ll then move into a hands-on session where attendees will build and plant a raised bed using native nut trees. By the end of the session, participants will have seen how to build a fully planted APRB ready for seasonal growth and a deeper understanding of how APRB’s work.
