Citizen Science

Citizen Science

What is Citizen Science?

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology offers the following definition for Citizen Science:

"Projects in which volunteers partner with scientists to answer real-world questions"

Citizen Science can range from reporting an insect or wildlife sighting to helping provide data for a scientific research endeavor. You can get involved in making your community a better place to live by participating in a citizen science project! It is a fun way to learn more about the place you live and encourages better stewardship of our environment.
