Getting Started in Bee Keeping: Sweet Success

Description: Setting up your hives such as choosing a location and installing adequate protection from other wildlife is critical to successful beekeeping. Learn as much as you can about bees. Consider all the variables that may affect your honeybees, and know your environment. You may want to join a local bee group so that you might be exposed to local bee knowledge. You may see something different every time you look at your hives. To husband your bees and make appropriate management decisions, beekeepers need to be flexible in their ability to understand why bees’ behavior and certain factors may impact their well-being.
