Join us for an entirely outdoor, hands-on woods walk exploring stream crossings and riparian area management. Participants will visit several types of crossings and structures, including a new bridge, an old footbridge, and a skidder bridge, while learning about different crossing options, best management practices (BMPs), permitting considerations, and trout-spawning stream restrictions. The workshop will also highlight streamside vegetation management, including the role of healthy riparian areas, wetland plants, and herbaceous plant management. Participants will learn about management options for hemlocks impacted by hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) and discuss strategies for maintaining healthy streamside vegetation while addressing invasive species and other management challenges in riparian areas.
