To gardeners, compost is black gold. Compost is generated from biodegradable waste. Amending your soil with compost improves your soil, provides nutrients, helps retain moisture, balances the pH, suppresses disease, and reduces the use of chemicals. In this course, we will cover the biochemistry of composting, what to put in the mix, types of bins, and how to avoid problems. Learn how to generate compost from kitchen scraps and yard waste and manage the process to yield piles of valuable material.
