Ticks, the clock is ticking

There are many different tick species found throughout the US that are localized to certain areas. However, only a few transmit diseases to people. Ticks survive on different animal hosts and transmit various bacterial infections to humans. Different species of ticks transmit different diseases. Learn about the different species of ticks present in our area, and how to identify them, remove them and dispose of them. Learn how to safeguard yourself from them and if bitten how to identify or manage the early stage of potential disease. Early identification is best to avoid long-term sequelae of tick-related illnesses.
